Date of birth
7th February 1962 Star sign Aquarius Check out the birthday card I made for him at The Izzard Lounge Yahoo Club Aquarians are idealistic, independent, inventive thinkers -- quick-witted, positive, excitable and, when necessary, aggressive and combative. (My name is not Tracy!) Their vision, purpose, or ideal is sharing their brilliant ideas with others in an effort to enlighten them for their own good. (And hasn't he done it so well?!) Guided by their innate foresight and appreciation for the brotherhood of man, Aquarians envision a utopian future for the human race in which everyone treats each other alike, regardless of gender, color, nationality or background. (See info about Tranvestitism and the European Movement - bit of a Mr Dog Caesar connection there I think!) Aquarians are aroused to contribute to society by dispensing their humanitarian ideals, and carefully ponder the most expedient ways to inspire understanding among others. Place of birth Aden, Yemen (his father,Harold, worked at the BP refinery) His mother was nurse and midwife at the hospital built by BP there.
In 1969 the family moved to Bexhill-on-Sea. Eddie and his brother were again sent to boarding school, this time in Eastbourne. In the gym there, he saw a play (the name of which he cannot remember exactly) Quote "it was 'The Boy and his Cart', or 'The Boy and his Horse', or 'The Boy and a Means of Transport', this inspired him to make the decision that taking to the stage was what he wanted to do. Eddie is more than just a stand up comedian, he has quite a few stage and screen appearances under his belt. For more information about these click on the Stage or Screen buttons at the bottom of this page. Other influences on his career are the comedic talents of Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, Billy Connolly and the Monty Python team.
As a student at
Sheffield University Eddie studied accountancy and mathematics. However, he devoted most
of his time to acting in and producing plays, shows and street theatre. Quote "Street
performing is the hardest art I have ever performed. You have to create an audience out of
people who don't really want to watch you. But at it's best it teaches you amazing things
and it heavily influenced all my stand up". Before he ran the shows apparently he was
not always successful at auditions! Quote"I was determined to get good parts but
unfortunately in auditions I was marked down as 'captain crap'." If you are the
